PolicyZen, Inc. ("PolicyZen," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it
through this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard
your information when you use the PolicyZen mobile application, website, and related services
(collectively, the "Services").
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you
do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you voluntarily provide, information collected automatically, and information
from third parties, as described below.
A. Information You Provide to Us
Personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, date of birth,
account credentials, communications with us, uploaded insurance documents, policy numbers,
coverage details, renewal dates, beneficiaries, and other information you choose to provide.
B. Information Collected Automatically
Device and usage information including IP address, device identifiers, operating system, browser type,
usage logs, interaction data, crash reports, performance data, and approximate location derived from
IP address.
C. Information from Third Parties
Information from insurance carriers, brokers, agents, analytics providers, or identity verification services
that you authorize us to access.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services; organize and display
insurance policies; send renewal reminders; power AI-driven insights and gap analysis; facilitate
referrals at your request; communicate with you; process transactions; ensure security; and comply
with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
3. AI and Automated Processing
PolicyZen uses artificial intelligence and automated tools to analyze policy data, answer user
questions, generate reminders, and provide coverage insights.
AI-generated outputs are informational only and do not constitute legal, insurance, medical, or financial
advice. PolicyZen is not an insurance carrier, broker, agent, fiduciary, or HIPAA-covered entity and
does not provide medical services. You remain solely responsible for verifying coverage details and
decisions made based on information provided through the Services.
PolicyZen does not use user-uploaded insurance documents or personal information to train
generalized artificial intelligence models. Any system improvement is performed using aggregated
and/or de-identified data where reasonably possible.
4. How We Share Information
We may share information with trusted service providers, with insurance professionals at your direction,
for legal and compliance purposes, or in connection with a business transaction. PolicyZen may receive
compensation for certain referrals, where permitted by law, without affecting recommendations.
5. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including
encryption, access controls, secure cloud infrastructure, and monitoring. No system is completely
secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, comply
with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your
account, subject to lawful retention requirements.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your
personal information, and to opt out of certain communications.
California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and
limit the use of sensitive personal information. PolicyZen does not sell personal information or share it
for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8. Children’s Privacy
PolicyZen is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly
collect personal information from children.
9. Third-Party Links
The Services may include links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their
privacy practices.
10. International Users
PolicyZen operates from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you
consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes
become effective constitutes acceptance.
